crafting supplies, watercolours and almost biscuits

I didn't post this yesterday as I was supposed to be working, and did for the majority of the day. I only got distracted once, by the postman. And here's why:

Look at all those lovely card crafting goodies!
I had bought a huge selection of crafting supplies from a lady on a Facebook group who I guess was clearing out some surplusses or maybe even giving up altogether. I have carefully packed it all into the box that our hand-held electric mixer came in, and am now wondering where to put it as our cupboard is already full to bursting, despite my having sorted it out and condensed the contents (read: threw out lots of packaging, rearranged books etc) only a matter of weeks ago. It's now a part of our crafty stores.

During our cuddles this morning, Little Clanger mentioned that she wanted to do some painting. So after breakfast we got out the watercolours, paper, brushes and overalls. We've 2 bigs trays of water colours and several smaller ones, but stuck to the big ones today. We spent about 90 minutes swapping bits of paper, experimenting with different brushes (we have a tin of about 20 differently sized and shaped brushes) and in Tiny Clanger's case attributing the names of everyone we know to various blobs on her pictures.

Here's some pictures :)

Once the sprogits had had enough they washed their hands and went to play upstairs for a bit and I wiped down the table and was then struck by a spark of creative inspiration myself, so grabbed a few more sheets of paper and did a few washes, and, following Little Clanger and Small Clanger's footsteps, flicked some blue/white and red/green paint onto a couple of sheets. I forgot to take a picture before I had already cut the first piece of splat paper.

Anyway, a sheet of blue paper and a card from our stores, plus the snowflake I made the other day out of hama beads, and.........

... tada!! One completed Christmas card. Little Clanger was suitably impressed and has plans for robins and snowmen and Christmas trees on a variety of backgrounds, once we have the right coloured hama beads. Have placed bids on various tubs of beads on eBay.

After lunch the sprogits watched Ice Age 2, again. Can you guess what their favourite film is at the moment? I am sure that they must be getting something from it, even after this many watches, and it's only the latest in a long line of films that have become the "favourite" and must be watched over and over and over and over and over.... and over again. I made the most of the distraction and went upstairs to do some revision.

I was hoping to be able to make some biscuits when then film had finished, but I discovered we don't have enough butter to do so. I was actually looking forward to us having some fun cutting out various shapes and decorating them with some glace icing and silver balls, but I probably made more sensible use of the time by revising reasoning theories. Probably. Maybe. There's always tomorrow to make biscuits....

Anyway, Daddy Bells has brought some yummy locally made sausages home with him and is currently cooking up a storm in the kitchen and the sprogits are playing on the cbeebies website.
