birthday celebrations and other bits and pieces

So, been rather busy with work stuff. However, just have time for a quick round up of the past few days. We activated the sprogits Minecraft licenses, so they have been Minecraft mental, playing it at every opportunity.

Small Clanger also spent a while playing on Explorapedia. He was very exicted to discover that "volcanoes can be under the water!" and also later spontaneously informed me that "lava under the ground is called magma".

On Saturday a couple of the neighbours kids came around - they decided while they were here that they wanted to make Tiny some birthday cards, so they all got pieces of card and folded them, drew pictures onto paper and cut them out, stuck them on and wrote in the insides. It was very sweet, and Tiny was thrilled. One of the girls also came back later on in the evening and gave Tiny a Mr Bounce beanie.

On Saturday morning Tiny helped to make her own birthday cake, which promptly fell apart when being removed from the cake tin. It was also rather overcooked (first time I've ever taken 2 attempts to make a cake!), so we gave that up as a bad job and started again on Sunday morning.

Tiny's birthday party was a roaring success on Sunday afternoon. A couple of the HE families who we go to gymnastics with came over, as well as some long term family friends, and the kids all had a great time playing. We did pass the parcel and sang happy birthday. Altogether it was very relaxed and enjoyed by all.

On Monday we did gymnastics as usual, although Small Clanger decided he didn't want to do it and spent the day playing with his free lego toy from the Sun. Little also complained of being tired part way through, so possible that they were still tired from the party on Sunday. We also went for Little's eyes testing, which are still ok (shortsightedness runs in the family).
