a day in the sun

This morning the sprogs and I went to a regular HE group in a nearby town. The group is very free range so the children spent the morning playing indoors while us parents drank tea and put the world to rights.

At lunch time we all walked over to the local park, where we ate lunch and raided the ice cream van for ice creams. Tiny and I had a lengthy debate about whether or not her ice lolly could be pink, "like the girl with the flowery shoes". Eventually, after some negotiation with the ice cream van man, we agreed that an orange ice lolly would be acceptable.

The weather was beautiful - sunny, with blue skies and wisps of cloud. The sprogs played games involving play houses and fetching orbs from the tops of climbing frames and rolled around in the grass and made bug hotels. All in all, it was a lovely, very much needed, chilled out day with our friends.
