This morning we went to gymnastics as is normal on a Monday morning. Small Clanger joined in again this week, but I am unsure whether he will continue to each week. He doesn't seem to be interested in it in the same way Little Clanger is. He spends quite a bit of time lying on the floor; flopping or leaping about; complaining that he's thirsty, or tired, or sweaty; and not listening to the instructor. I'm not sure whether this is going to be a blanket thing regardless of what he does, or whether it is specific to gym. I was discussing with another mum (who is also having similar feelings about her son) whether we could take them to do something else instead of gym on a Monday morning, and Little Clanger would still go to gym with another mum who's daughter is a close friend of Little's. It will take some fine tuning though...
After gym we caught the bus back into town and called in Morrison's to do a spot of shopping. We found somewhere to perch and eat some lunch before walking to the media museum. We had booked, with a group of other home ed families, to go and see To The Arctic at the IMAX cinema. There was still some time before we had to meet them so we had a look around the shop, and then had a quick wander through the museum and found a Dalek (cue mass excitement). We agreed we would go back for a proper trip (or several trips - it's a big museum!) another day.
We collected our 3D glasses and got settled, and watched the obligatory adverts. The sprogits enjoyed the film - it followed a number of animals as they try to live in the arctic as it shrinks due to global warming. Issues were raised such as lack of food and difficulty moving from place to place. We all agreed we would do it again sometime.
By this point it was nearly 4pm so we headed home and unpacked our shopping and put dinner in the oven. The kids wound down a bit by playing some Minecraft. Little Clanger has started a survival world as well as a creative one, so I showed her how to use mud to build steps so she can climb down to the bottom of gorges. She mined some iron ore and smelted it into iron to make a bucket and some shears, and then used the bucket to collect some lava so she could move further through the gorge without risk of being burned (it was making her nervous). I know it's not supposed to be educational, but it really is.
All 3 sprogits have flopped into bed exhausted, so all in all it's been a good day. Tomorrow we shall relax and not do much :)
