midweek painting and other stuff

This week the sprogs have been plagued with a bug that's come with a horrible cough and a temperature, so most of our plans have gone out of the window.

Yesterday, however, we got the watercolours out and the sprogs painted some pictures.

While usually the clean up would be a joint effort, due to the coughing and general malady going on I cleaned up while they watched Despicable Me (their new favourite film). It only took 5 minutes for me to do it whereas it would've taken lots longer and been a lot more stressful if we had done it together.

I also took this picture of one of our plants which has been dormant for the last few months (you have to chop all its leaves off in the autumn), which having not flowered at all last year is this year sprouting two flowers! The flowers are beautiful so I will take another picture when they're in full bloom

On the subject of plants, yesterday morning I took advantage of a Money Saving Expert offer and bought some seeds for a drastically reduced price. There were some seeds in there which we did not have yet. However, it was possibly not a needed purchase...we already have over 30 a few packets of seeds...

I am very much looking forward to growing food this year. Today we bought some seed trays ready to start planting up soon. We just need some seed compost now and the weather to be a touch warmer. I can't tell you how excited I am! We have big plans for our garden and I would love to spend a lot of this year outside working on it with the sprogs :)
