This morning we did some more on our spring lapbooks. They are coming along nicely - we are very pleased with them, but we still have quite a few things we want to do with them. Today we printed out some spring letters and also started making lifecycle wheels, which I shall photograph more of as we progress and post it up.
After lunch we hopped on the bus into town. We nipped into Wilkinsons to pick up a pack of those brass paper fasteners (for the lifecycle wheels) and also bought 30cm and 15cm some rulers (we definitely have at least one of each but I'm damned if I can actually find them!) and a new pencilcase for myself as mine fell apart I've had it so long! Then we walked down to a coffee shop where we were meeting some friends for a drink, spent a bit of time playing outside before everybody arrived...
...and then when we went inside we decided that as a special treat the sprogs would have smoothies and cake. We don't often go to coffee shops or cafés for drinks so I didn't see why we couldn't splash out a bit.
I had brought the sprogs some things to do - drawing, our 'town in a bag', some fairies and the smart phone which we use as a game phone. Even so after about an hour they were itching to get out and play in the fountains in Bradford's city centre park so we wandered over... the girls took off their leggings/tights and Small rolled his jeans up and they went paddling.
As always happens with children and vast expanses of water, they all came back wet. Ranging from Tiny who was a bit damp, to Little who went in that massive fountain in the picture above and was quite wet, to Small who was drenched to the skin, and then had to go home on the bus in soaking wet jeans with his t-shirt in his bag.
All in all, a good day has been had by all :)
