good moments and bad moments

Today has definitely been one of those kinds of days. Tiny and I had a rather bad night last night, which doesn't make for a good start to any day really. We were supposed to be hosting some friends for lunch but they cancelled due to sickness, which took the pressure off the day a bit. During breakfast I showed the sprogs the spring pattern I had printed out last night for our spring topic and they decided to start colouring it while I wrote our shopping list. We hopped on the bus to the supermarket and managed to get all our shopping done with relative ease. Small went to the supermarket dressed as a knight with a cape over his coat and his sword on his belt. He did not chop the heads off or stab any other shoppers though, I asked him to keep it in the sheath while we were in the shop and he did. He did beat up a bush while we were waiting for the bus though.

When we got home we did some more in our spring lapbooks. They are coming on quite well, although I must confess I have found it a touch difficult to find resources that are suitable for Little... can find plenty that are great for Small and Tiny, but the amount of Little is less and takes more work to find. We've managed quite well though. Can't wait to do more on them tomorrow before heading off to meet a friend for coffee. Pictures when they are done :)

On a slightly less positive note I will be starting my orange rhino challenge on Day 1 again tomorrow. After the lack of sleep last night I have spent most of today with a headache and very limited patience. I shouted twice. I shouldn't have for either of them, and neither time helped my headache at all. But they happened, so starting afresh we are. I am not letting these moments drag me down, as they happen to everyone, and at least part of the challenge is learning about yourself and how to prevent them from happening. It is also about making them become the exception, and not the norm. So, Day 1. Bring it on.
